Euphorbia obesa - euphorbia (Square vase 7x7x10 cm)

Very diverse genus of about 2000 species of annuals, biennials, evergreen, semi-persistent or herbaceous perennials, suffrutics, deciduous or evergreen shrubs and trees, succulents, widely present in a variety of habitats in temperate, subtropical and tropical regions. Euphorbia obesa is a small 8-ribbed succulent with a simple globose to stocky-cylindrical stem, rarely clustered, up to 10-15 cm tall. The color ranges from dark green to light greyish green, with darker longitudinal and transverse lines. On the ribs, there are very small and dense, non-pungent teeth. In summer it produces small yellow flowers at the top.

Pedoclimatic needs

Grow in well-drained mineral soil. Sunny exposure. In winter it resists down to -4/-5° C as long as it is kept dry. Being a species with limited development, it is particularly suitable for cultivation in pots. It can be grown in the ground in Mediterranean gardens where temperatures do not fall below freezing.
