    Genus of two species of evergreen shrubs found in rocky areas, woodlands and scrublands of the Mediterranean region and are grown for their aromatic foliage and beautiful flowers. Rosmarinus officinalis erectus is a suffruticose perennial plant up to 2 meters tall characterized by a light brown, erect and very branched woody stem. The leaves, leathery, opposite and linear, are dark green in color, cover numerous twigs and are rich in oil glands. The flowers, which appear in the axils of the leaves, are small in size and lilac in colour.

    Pedoclimatic needs

    It adapts to all types of soil, preferring dry and well-drained ones. It likes sunny exposure and tolerates salty climates. It does not require frequent watering. Moderately rustic species, it tolerates minimum temperatures down to -7°/-9°C, but fears intense and prolonged frosts.
