Abies alba - white fir (Square vase 9x9x20 cm)

Monoecious evergreen tree, dicline, slender and long-lived with a conical-pyramidal crown belonging to the order Pinales. When mature it can reach 40-50 meters in height. It has a straight and cylindrical trunk with resin pockets, persistent leaves made up of needles arranged in a spiral on the twigs. The male cones are yellow with a large quantity of pollen, the female cones are red-violet with numerous seeds.

Pedoclimatic requirements

It prefers fresh and deep siliceous soils. It resists wind well. It needs a humid mountain climate. Rustic species, it can tolerate temperatures reaching -25°c.
