Genus of about 150 species of deciduous or evergreen trees and shrubs of Europe, Africa and Northern Asia and North and Central America. Acer campestre is a deciduous tree of medium size, up to 13-15 meters tall. It is characterized by a well-branched trunk, rounded and spreading crown. The leaves are opposite, dark green and normally have 3 or 5 lobes. In autumn they take on a golden yellow color with very decorative reddish shades. The flowers, gathered in inflorescences, are small and green. They appear between April and May together with the leaves. The fruit is a winged disamara.
