Acer Rubrum Cv "Brandywine" - Red Maple (Square Vase 9X9X20 Cm)

Genus of about 150 species of deciduous or evergreen trees and shrubs of Europe, Africa and northern Asia and North and Central America. Acer rubrum is a deciduous tree that can reach a height of 15/18 m. It has an expanded and irregular shaped foliage with palmate leaves with serrated edges, dark green in colour. In autumn the leaves take on the characteristic red-orange color from which the species takes its name. This cultivar has more contained growth and more compact foliage.

Pedoclimatic needs

It prefers fresh, deep, fertile and well-drained soil. To have the characteristic red color in autumn the plants must grow in acidic or sub-acid substrates. It fears alkaline soils where iron chlorosis occurs. It can be grown in full sun or partial shade. Very rustic plant, it resists minimum temperatures up to -15°/-20°C
