Adenium obesum cv "new yellow" - desert rose (15 cm pot)
Genus composed of 5 species of caudiciform succulent plants native to Africa, Arabia and the island of Socotra. Adenium obesum is a magnificent deciduous succulent up to 1.5 m tall. The base of the stem is swollen from which numerous thin, sparsely branched branches branch out. The dark green leaves are oval and leathery. In spring, numerous flowers up to 8/10 cm wide form from the top of the stems, generally pink with a white center, although there are numerous varieties with various shades of color. This specific cultivar is characterized by beautiful pale yellow flowers with pink streaks.
Pedoclimatic requirements
Grow in moderately fertile, very well drained soil, in the sun. Not rustic. In winter it resists up to +6°/+8°c and must be kept dry. It can be grown in the ground only in Mediterranean gardens, where temperatures do not fall below +6°c. Being a species with a contained development it is ideal to grow in pots. In our climates it can be grown in a container, placed outdoors during spring and summer and sheltered during autumn and winter.
