Agave celsii (syn. mitis) - agave cespitosa (18 cm pot)
Genus of over 200 species of perennials and monocarpic succulents forming rosettes, from the desert and mountain regions of North, Central and South America. Agave celsii is a succulent perennial that forms a rosette of 30-50 cm in diameter of blue-green color. The rosettes tuft and form dense groups up to 4-5 meters wide. The leaves finely toothed on the edges end with a thorn. After 10-15 years the rosette produces a characteristic inflorescence up to 2-3 m high. After flowering the rosette dies.
Pedoclimatic requirements
Grow in slightly acidic, moderately fertile and well-drained soil, in full sun. It does not tolerate intense frosts and resists up to -1°\-3°c for short periods. During the dry season it resists drought well, although it benefits from regular irrigation by waiting for the soil to dry between one irrigation and the other.
