Genus of over 200 species of rosette-forming monocarpic perennials and succulents of desert and mountainous regions of North and Central America. Agave cupreata is a perennial succulent with basal rosettes or short stem. The light green, pointed leaves are ovate to obovate, 75 cm long, with twisted, thorny, reddish brown marginal spines and brown terminal spines. The yellow flowers are grouped in erect inflorescences up to 2 m long.

    Pedoclimatic needs

Grow in slightly acidic, moderately fertile and well-drained soil, in full sun. Not very rustic species, it resists short frosts and minimum temperatures reaching -2°/0°c. During the dry season it resists drought well, although it benefits from regular irrigation by waiting for the earth to dry between one irrigation and another.
