Agave decipiens - agave arborea (14 cm pot)

Genus of over 200 species of rosette-forming monocarpic perennials and succulents of desert and mountainous regions of North and Central America. Agave decipiens is an arborescent species with a trunk up to 4 m high. The bright green leaves are up to 60-80 cm long and have wavy and serrated margins. The flowering stems are up to 5 m tall, with a large panicle of greenish-yellow flowers.

Pedoclimatic needs

Drained soil without water stagnation, preferably with a sub-acid pH. Grow in full sun. It is suitable for growing both in pots and in the ground or in flowerbeds. Non-rustic species to be grown in pots in climates where temperatures drop below 0°C. During the dry season it resists drought well, although it benefits from regular irrigation by waiting for the earth to dry between one irrigation and another.
