genus of over 200 species of rosette-forming monocarpic perennials and succulents from the desert and mountainous regions of North and Central America. The Agave guadalajarana has moderate growth, reaching 50/70 cm in diameter when mature. It has a regular and compact shape with large glaucous green leaves edged with reddish brown thorns. It has a very short stem and the leaves develop like a rosette. It flowers when mature, developing a stem that extends in height and sulfur yellow flowers bloom on the apex of the latter. After flowering the plant dies.
Pedoclimatic needs
To be grown in well-drained and mineral-rich soil, without stagnation. Watering must be regular during the growing season, waiting for the soil to dry between one watering and the next. It prefers full sun exposure. This species is partially rustic and resists short frosts down to -6-8°c.Botanical Information
