Agave weberi - (Square vase 9x9x10 cm)
Genus of over 200 species of perennials and monocarpic succulents forming rosettes, from the desert and mountainous regions of North and Central America. Agave weberi is a medium-large succulent plant, which can reach a height of 2-3 meters. It has 1.5-2 meter long leaves, glaucous in color gathered in a rosette, with a brown thorn at the apex. Marginal thorns absent. The flowers are yellow gathered in clusters on an inflorescence up to 4/6 meters high. Once the flower has been produced the plant dies, but the numerous basal suckers remain viable.
Pedoclimatic requirements
It prefers drained soil without stagnant water, preferably with good limestone content. Grow in full sun. It adapts to being grown both in pots and in the ground or in flowerbeds. Moderately rustic species, it resists short night frosts and minimum temperatures that reach -4°/-6°c. During the dry season it resists drought well, even if it benefits from regular irrigations by waiting for the soil to dry between one irrigation and the next.
