Allium schoenoprasum - chives (100 seeds)

Perennial, herbaceous plant with a small underground bulb divided into bulbils surrounded by a white papery membrane. Both the leaves and the floral scape are tubular and give off a delicate onion scent. In spring it produces numerous very decorative apical inflorescences with small pink or purple flowers. Chives, whose leaves they consume, have all the characteristics common to the Allium genus but are much more delicate and pleasant.

Pedoclimatic needs

It adapts to all types of soil, preferring fresh, light, medium-textured, loose and well-draining soil. It likes exposure in full sun or partial shade. The plant is very rustic and during the winter it dries its leaves and overwinters as bulbs in the ground, adapting perfectly to cold temperate climates and resists temperatures up to -18°/-20°C. In the following spring, new leaves emerge from the ground.
