Genus of 300 species of evergreen perennials with rosettes of small to large leaves. Some are shrub-like, a few arborescent. They can be found at various altitudes in the Cape Verde Islands, tropical and southern Africa, Madagascar and the Arabian Peninsula. Aloe Saponaria is a succulent acaulescent or with short stems, with rosettes of serrated, lanceolate leaves of medium or dark green, 20 cm long or more with oblong white markings. The plant forms dense groups of rosettes from basal suckers or stoloniferous. In summer it bears apical panicles 40-60 cm long of cylindrical red to yellow flowers. It can reach 70 cm in height.

    Pedoclimatic requirements
It requires sandy and well-drained soil. It likes a dry and warm climate and should be grown in the sun or partial shade. It is not a rustic plant, it tolerates minimum temperatures that reach +4°/+5°C. During the dry season it tolerates drought well, but it likes regular watering, waiting for the soil to dry between one watering and the next.
