Genus of approximately 100 species of perennial succulent plants native to South Africa. Small in size, they may have swollen stems or leaves. Anacampseros telephiastrum has moderate growth, maintaining small dimensions. The leaves are fleshy, lanceolate, green tending to pink (depending on exposure to the sun) and are arranged in a rosette around a thin stem. The rosettes cluster to form dense groups. As they grow, the basal rosettes can rise up to 20 cm in height. In the spring season, beautiful pink flowers are generated from the tops of the stems.
Pedoclimatic needs
Grow in sandy, fibrous, well-drained soil. Watering must be regular from March to September with a suspension in the winter months. It prefers full sun or partially shaded exposure. During the winter period it tolerates minimum temperatures of up to -3°/-5°c if kept dry. For this reason it is recommended to keep the plant sheltered during the coldest periods to ensure its survival. Ideal for growing in pots, in small pockets between the rocks of rock gardens or dry stone walls.Botanical Information
