Centranthus ruber - red valerian of the walls - Seeds 0,2gr

Perennial suffrutix with bushy habit up to 50-80 cm tall. Entire opposite leaves with smooth margins, petiolate at the base, sessile along the stems, more or less glaucous. Small, fragrant zygomorphic flowers gathered in intense pink apical inflorescences. The flowers are very attractive to butterflies.

Pedoclimatic needs

It prefers sunny exposures, also adapting to partial shade. Grow in sandy and stony soils. Ideal for creating spots of color in flowerbeds or planted on arid slopes or in dry stone walls. Partially rustic plant, it resists cold and frost down to -10°/-12°c. In cold climates, during the winter the herbaceous stems dry up and new shoots emerge the following spring from the lignified basal part.
