    Altezza della pianta: 150-160cm cm
Genus of about 12 species of evergreen trees and shrubs, native to the Far East. The Lemon is a small evergreen tree up to 4-5 m tall, with irregular branches and aromatic, ovate-lanceolate, alternate leaves, with slightly winged petioles and spiny stipules. The flowers, solitary or paired, located in the axils of the leaves, are white with shades of purple, fragrant. The fruits are oval or oblong, pointed at the end, with smooth or wrinkled skin, rich in essential oils, and acidic pulp divided into 8-10 segments. Flowering occurs in April-May with fruit ripening in autumn-winter. This variety has elongated elliptical fruits with smooth, citrine-yellow skin. The weight of the fruits is generally 80-120 g with abundant, acidic juice and few seeds.

    Pedoclimatic needs

Lemons are plants suitable for hot climate areas and do not resist cold and frost; in Italy they are grown in the south, on the islands and where temperatures do not fall below +2°/0°C. Citrus fruits prefer loose and fertile soils, possibly with a good organic substance content and avoid excessively calcareous soils. Lemons do not resist drought and during the dry season they must be watered and fertilized regularly.
