Botanical name of tubercles. They grow in semiarid areas of the southwestern United States and Mexico. Coryphanta gladiispina is a cactus with a globose body and glaucous epidermis. Apex densely covered with white fluff. Conical tubercles 1-2 cm. Radial spines 12-16 white. Curved gray apical spine with black tip. Yellow flowers with pink shades 6-8 cm, at the apex of the plant. Yellowish green fruits 2-4 cm.Pedoclimatic needs
Grow in well-drained soil. Sunny exposure. In winter it resists down to -4/-5° C as long as it is kept dry. It can be grown in the ground in Mediterranean gardens where temperatures do not fall below freezing.
