This particular variety of pumpkin originating from South America is characterized by spherical or slightly elongated orange fruits of medium size with not very pronounced ribs and a large, woody peduncle. The pulp is sweet, light orange when ripe. Very popular in the United States, it is carved and used as a lantern for Halloween. It can be eaten prepared as flan, pumpkin, jam.
Pedoclimatic needs
It adapts to soft and fresh soils, as long as they are well drained and rich in organic substances. It prefers a sunny exposure. It requires high temperatures to bring the fruits to full ripeness. Watering must be abundant and regular. It fears the cold and cannot tolerate temperatures below 10°C.
