Genus of shrubs or small deciduous trees native to the United States and Asia where they grow in woods or on the edges of watercourses. Deutzia gracilis is a small deciduous shrub up to 1-1.5 m tall. The crown is compact and rounded. The leaves are small, lanceolate, light green in color and appear in the spring season. Particularly attractive is the abundant flowering that occurs between May and June. The flowers, small and delicately scented, are white, sometimes faintly pink.
Pedoclimatic needs
It should be grown in fresh, well-drained soil with a good organic substance content. It prefers a sunny or partial shade exposure. This small shrub is rustic and resists even persistent frosts down to -12°/-14°c. Plant for cool and humid climates that does not tolerate drought; during the dry season water regularly.Botanical Information
