Edgeworthia chrysantha - (Square vase 12x12x20 cm)

Genus of shrubs or small deciduous trees native to the United States and Asia where they grow in woods or on the edges of waterways. Edgeworthia chrysantha is a small deciduous shrub with a globular shape, up to 1-1.5 m tall. The leaves are lanceolate, intense green in color and appear in the spring season. A peculiarity of this species is the very early flowering, before the leaves appear, which occurs between January and March. The small flowers, which appear on the tips of the stems, are gathered in creamy white, yellow or orange-red inflorescences.

Pedoclimatic needs

Grow in fresh, well-drained soil with a good organic substance content. Prefers partial shade exposure. Partially rustic plant, it resists short frosts down to -4°/-6°C. Plant for cool and humid climates that does not tolerate drought; during the dry season water regularly.
