Erythrina crista-galli - cockscomb (Square vase 9x9x20 cm)

Genus of over 100 species of deciduous, semi-persistent and evergreen trees, shrubs, sufructics and woody-based perennials, usually thorny, found in groves and exposed slopes of tropical regions throughout the world. Erythrina crista-galli is a shrub or small deciduous tree up to 4-6 meters tall. The young branches are equipped with thorns, the leaves are composed of light green, light green color. The flowers, which appear from late spring to early summer, are scarlet-red in color gathered in very decorative apical inflorescences.

Pedoclimatic needs

It adapts to all types of soil, as long as it is well drained. It prefers sunny positions, but adapts well to partial shade. It can be planted in climates where temperatures do not fall below 0°C for long. Young plants must be protected in the cold season. Being a small to medium sized plant, it can also be grown in a pot.
