Genus of over 500 species of evergreen trees and shrubs, present in all habitats with the exception of particularly arid ones, mostly in Australia, but also in the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. Eucalyptus globulus is a large evergreen tree with a straight trunk and slender branches. In its natural habitat it can reach a height of over 40 m, but in Europe it rarely exceeds 20 m. Peculiarities of many eucalyptus species as well as for and. Globulus is the moulting of the bark, which generally occurs in late summer. The bark detaches from the trunk and main branches, revealing the new bluish one. The leaves are ovate-lanceolate in shape, very aromatic, light green in color with silvery gray reflections. Eucalyptol is extracted from its leaves, an oil widely used in medicine and herbal medicine. The flowers are showy and globose in shape, creamy white in color and are borne by single inflorescences.
