Genus of 175 species of deciduous, semi-persistent and evergreen shrubs, trees and climbers present mainly in woods and scrubland, mostly in Asia. The Euonymus europaeus is a shrub or small tree of our flora up to 4-5 m tall, largely conical, deciduous, with splayed, sometimes pendulous shoots and oval, crenate, dark green leaves, up to 7 cm long . In autumn the leaves take on very beautiful colors ranging from red, pink or orange. In spring it produces small greenish flowers followed by spherical, four-lobed fruits. These fruits have a magnificent pink color in autumn and release the orange seeds with magnificent color contrast.
Pedoclimatic needs
Grow in any well-drained soil, in full sun or light shade. Euonymus europaeus is completely rustic and resists even prolonged frosts with temperatures up to -14°/-16°C. This species is not very resistant to drought during the dry season and benefits from regular irrigation.Botanical Information
