Genus of about 90 species of small evergreen bamboos from East Asia. Fargesia murielae cv “Rufa” is a slow-growing bamboo that rarely exceeds 4 meters in height. It forms dense reeds in dense, compact tufts, with bright green lanceolate leaves. Individual canes are very flexible and rarely exceed 3 cm in diameter.
Pedoclimatic needs
It adapts to all types of soil as long as it is fresh and well endowed with organic substance. Rustic species tolerates the cold but not above -12°/-15°C. It prefers positions in partial shade, better if sheltered from strong winds. In summer it benefits from regular watering. A moderately growing species that is not particularly invasive, it is suitable for cultivation in pots or for creating hedges or scrubland.Botanical Information
