Genus of about 65 species of deciduous trees, rarely evergreen, usually found in the woods of Europe, Asia and North America. Fraxinus angustifolia subsp. oxycarpa is an expanded deciduous tree with pinnate, shiny leaves, up to 25 cm long, dark green above, lighter below, often in whorls of 3, each composed of 13 pointed, lanceolate leaflets, turning golden yellow towards the fall. It can reach 25 m in height.
