Perennial bulbous herbaceous plant. Lanceolate leaves, soft and smooth to the touch, up to 30-40 cm long, glaucous green in color. The flowers appear in spring and are intense pink, arranged in a spike. Capsule-shaped fruits containing reddish seeds. It blooms in April - May. At the end of spring, beginning of summer, with the arrival of the heat, the leaves dry up and only the bulb remains viable, which will remain dormant until the end of winter. The new leaves will sprout the following spring.
Pedoclimatic requirements
It prefers fresh soil without stagnation, fertile, loose and well drained. Expose in bright areas and protect from frosts and too intense cold. This species is ideal for brightening up gardens without water with its flowering.
