Gunnera manicata - Dinosaur Plant - Seeds 0.2gr

Imposing herbaceous plant that can reach two and a half meters in height. It produces large leaves up to 3 meters wide, gathered in majestic tufts. The flowers are much less showy and smaller in size. They appear gathered in panicle inflorescences and are reddish in color.

Pedoclimatic requirements

It adapts to moist, fresh and well-drained soils, poorly tolerating water stagnation. It prefers an Atlantic climate, generally cool and with not too high summer temperatures. In a Mediterranean environment, during the hot season, it prefers a partially sunny position with regular irrigation. Moderately rustic plant, it tolerates minimum temperatures up to -2°/-4°C for short periods, during which it is advisable to protect it with a good mulch. During the winter the leaves dry up but the base of the plant remains vital, from which the new leaves and flowers will grow in the hot season.

Sowing
