Hoya carnosa - wax flower (Pot 12 cm)

Genus of over 200 species of evergreen, climbing and bushy perennials, some epiphytes, of the coastal headlands and rainforests of the warmer regions of Asia, Australia and the Pacific Islands. Hoya carnosa is an evergreen trailing epiphytic plant that grows up to 2-3 m with succulent, shiny, lanceolate dark green leaves, faintly mottled with small white dots. In spring it produces splendid umbrella-shaped, pendulous inflorescences, made up of small waxy star-shaped flowers, white with a red or pink centre, very fragrant.

Pedoclimatic needs

Given its limited development, it is particularly suitable for cultivation in pots. To be grown in fertile soil with good organic substance content and well drained. It likes partial shade or only partially sunny exposures. Not rustic, it tolerates temperatures down to -1\-2°C for short periods. Widely used in bright apartments as a trailing plant or on balconies to cover trellises.
