Luffa cylindrica - Sponge Plant (1 pack of seeds)

Annual climbing plant whose stems can reach up to 5 meters in length. It produces fruits with an elongated cylindrical shape, with three internal loggias that contain the seeds. The fruit is edible only when young, when the pulp is tender. It subsequently dehydrates, assuming a fibrous consistency. Excellent vegetable sponges are obtained from it.

Pedoclimatic requirements

It adapts to any type of soil, preferring fertile and well-drained ones. It prefers full sun exposure. Not a rustic species, it does not tolerate minimum temperatures below 15°/10°c

Sowing

From spring to early summer after soaking the seeds for 24-48 hours.
