Medicago arborea - tree alfalfa (25 seeds)

Evergreen shrub up to 2-3 meters tall, characterized by compound leaves, glaucous green in colour, with rounded margins which have a greyish down on the lower surface. Flowering is gradual, starting towards the end of winter and lasting until summer. The flowers are yellow in color and appear collected in dense inflorescences. The fruit is a small discoidal legume that is brown in color when ripe. It is a plant used since ancient times for the production of fodder.

It adapts to all types of terrain, even rocky, as long as it is well drained. This species commonly grows on coastal scrublands near the sea and tolerates drought, wind and salt well. To be grown in full sun or partial shade. Moderately rustic plant, it tolerates minimum temperatures reaching -4°/-6°c.
