Nolina (syn. Hesperoyucca) whipplei - smoke-eating plant (Square vase 7x7x10 cm)

Noliona whipplei has a low stem and rosettes of thin leaves with sharp tips, glaucous in colour, up to 80-120 cm long with a characteristic rigid shape. After 15-20 years the plant produces creamy white flowers in spring collected in very decorative terminal panicles.

Pedoclimatic needs

Fairly rustic plant that tolerates frost. It can be bred outdoors in the olive climate, where temperatures do not fall below -7°/-9°C. Being a slow-growing species, it is suitable for cultivation in pots. Particularly decorative plant due to the spherical rosettes of glaucous leaves. Grow in fertile, well-drained soil, in full sun. During the dry season it tolerates drought well, although it benefits from regular irrigation, waiting for the earth to dry between one administration and another.
