Notocactus leninghausii - Brazilian notocactus (Pot 18 cm)

Small cactus, initially globose to become columnar in mature specimens. The plants easily bunch from the base producing numerous suckers. It reaches 1 meter in height by 10 centimeters in width. Apex covered with white wool, oblique. Numerous radial spines, very thin, short, golden yellow. Central spines also yellow, longer, soft and not very sharp. The flowers appear in spring from the apex and are large (5-6 cm) and light yellow.

Pedoclimatic requirements
Grow in well-drained soil not too rich in organic matter. Sunny exposure. In winter it resists up to -4°/-5°C as long as it is kept dry. It can be grown in the ground in Mediterranean gardens, where temperatures do not fall below zero. In colder climates it can be grown in pots, placed outdoors during spring and summer and sheltered during autumn and winter.
