Ocimum basilicum licorice - licorice basil (1 pack of seeds)

Annual herbaceous plant that can reach a height of 60 cm. The leaves have dark stems and purple veins and are characterized by an odor and flavor reminiscent of both anise and liquorice. This fact depends on the presence of anethole, the same chemical component found in anise. Widely used in cuisine, particularly in Italian and Thai cuisine. Wine prepared with basil leaves is tonic and aphrodisiac, because basil stimulates the adrenaline cortex.

Pedoclimatic needs

It adapts to any type of soil, as long as it is well drained. Prefers exposure in full sun. Non-rustic plant, it cannot tolerate temperatures that drop below 10°c.
