Slow growing evergreen shrub and compact shape. Leathery, small, oblong leaves with serrated edges, dark green in colour. In spring it produces numerous small white flowers gathered in the axils of the leaves, so numerous that they completely cover the branch. These flowers give off a sweet and penetrating scent and are very popular with bees.
Pedoclimatic needs
It prefers full sun exposure but also adapts to partial shade. It adapts to any type of soil, as long as it is deep, fertile and well-drained. Rustic plant that resists even quite prolonged frosts down to -10°/-15°C. It fears late frosts and struggles to grow in very windy environments. Being a slow and limited growing shrub, it is particularly suitable for small gardens, balconies and terraces. It is suitable for the creation of both free and topiary hedges or to be planted in a group with other bushes or even as an isolated plant.Botanical Information
