Physocarpus opulifolius - physiocarp (Square vase 9x9x20 cm)

Physocarpus opulifolius is a deciduous shrub with an upright and compact habit. Mature plants take on a globular shape especially when sprouted periodically. The leaves are three-lobed, oval similar to those of the hawthorn. The 'Diabolo' cultivar has dark purple leaves throughout the growing season. In spring it produces graceful inflorescences made up of small pale pink flowers, which do not last very long.

Pedoclimatic needs

It adapts to any type of soil, as long as it is fresh and without stagnation. It likes exposure in full sun or partial shade. Rustic plant, it resists cold and frost and resists minimum temperatures reaching -12°/-14°C. It cannot tolerate drought and must be watered regularly during the hot season. Plants suitable for forming free and informal hedges by carrying out only containment plants. Also very popular in association with other bushes to create splashes of colour.
