Tamarindus indica - tamarind - 10 Seeds

Deciduous tropical tree up to 20 m tall with spreading crown and highly branched trunk. The light brown bark cracks in adult specimens. Odd-pinnate leaves up to 10-15 cm long. Small yellow flowers gathered in apical inflorescences. The fruits are legumes 10-12 cm long with edible pulp used in many culinary preparations.

Pedoclimatic requirements

It adapts to all types of soil. It should be planted in regions with a mild climate where temperatures do not fall below 3/4°c. As an adult it tolerates drought and prefers sunny exposures. It resists wind and saltiness.
