Shrub or small evergreen tree up to 4-6 m tall. Entire opposite leaves, pubescent on the lower surface. Small white flowers, borne on one-year-old branches, solitary or gathered in small groups. Fruits of variable shape (spherical, elliptical, pear-shaped) are very fragrant, white on the outside with pink or red pulp, sweet and sour or acidic, with numerous small, white seeds. This cultivar has pear-shaped fruit with green skin and pink pulp.
Pedoclimatic requirements
It prefers light soils, although it can also live on heavy ones, as long as there is no stagnation. The pH must be neutral (with an alkaline pH it manifests iron chlorosis). Guava is widely cultivated in tropical countries, both at a family and industrial level. A non-rustic plant, it resists temperatures up to +2°/+4°c. In the Mediterranean basin, despite there being favorable conditions for cultivation (citrus climate), it is present only sporadically.
