Genus of about 150 species of deciduous or evergreen trees and shrubs of Europe, Africa and northern Asia and North and Central America. Acer negundo is a medium-sized, fast-growing deciduous tree native to North America, up to 12-15 meters tall characterized by an erect greyish trunk and rounded foliage. The leaves are compound, impartipinnate and light green in colour. The flowers are inconspicuous and yellowish-green in color. The fruits are disamare that form long clusters.
Pedoclimatic needs
Maples are suitable for any type of garden depending on the species and size. Acer negundo adapts to all types of soil, preferring those that are soft, drained and with a moderate content of organic substance. It prefers exposure in full sun or partial shade. A very rustic plant, it tolerates minimum temperatures reaching -20°/-25°C, but also resists particularly hot and torrid seasons well.Botanical Information
