Cistus albidus is an evergreen, bushy shrub that can reach a height ranging from 30 to 120 cm. The bark is brown, cracked over time. The leaves are sessile, elliptical or ovate in shape, grey-green in color with white hairs on both faces. The flowers have five free petals, pink with yellow stamens in the center. The fruit is a capsule containing numerous seeds.

Pedoclimatic needs

It adapts to all types of soil, even stony and poor as long as it is well drained. It likes very bright exposure, preferably in full sun. Moderately rustic species, it resists short frosts down to -8°/-10°C. Cists resist drought, wind and salt well. Due to these characteristics and the beauty of their flowering they are ideal for beautifying parks and gardens without water.
