Genus of about 150 species of deciduous trees and shrubs often found in poor soil, in tropical and subtropical regions of Africa, America, Asia and Australia. Albizia niopoides is a fast-growing deciduous tree, up to 15-25 meters tall. It has loose and expanded foliage with splayed branches, especially in isolated specimens. The bark of the trunk and main branches is smooth, clear, not fissured, greyish yellow in colour, with green veins. The leaves, alternate even pinnate, are composed of 15-20 pairs of leaflets. In spring the flowers appear which are small and faintly scented, similar to those of mimosas, gathered in small light yellow inflorescences.
Pedoclimatic needs
Subtropical tree that also adapts well to the Mediterranean climate. Non-rustic species that resists temperatures up to +2/+4°C. It adapts to all types of soil as long as it is loose and without stagnation, preferring sandy ones. Cultivate in sunny exposures and large spaces to allow the foliage to expand freely.Sowing
In spring, after soaking the seeds for 12/24 hours, when the temperature is around 20-25 degrees.Botanical Information
