Genus of about 65 species of deciduous trees, rarely evergreen, usually found in the woods of Europe, Asia and North America. Fraxinus Americana is a fast-growing, largely columnar deciduous tree with dark green pinnate leaves, up to 35 cm long, with 5-9 oblong-lanceolate to ovate, pointed leaves, turning yellow or purple during the fall. It can reach 25 m in height.
Pedoclimatic needs
It adapts to any type of soil, as long as it is well drained and has a good organic substance content. It prefers an exposure in full sun or partial shade. It resists well in dry climates, but in the hot months in case of prolonged drought it requires irrigation. Very rustic species, it resists temperatures reaching -15°/-20°C.Botanical Information
