Genus of over 200 species of herbaceous annuals and perennials, deciduous and evergreen, widely distributed in warm-temperate, subtropical and tropical regions, where they live in various habitats. Hibiscus mutabilis is a deciduous shrub up to 4-6 m tall with a bushy habit. Light green, rounded, three-lobed leaves, up to 10/15 cm long. From late summer to mid-autumn it bears numerous flowers whose peculiarity is that they change color depending on the degree of ripeness from white to light pink and finally turning to dark pink. You will have flowers with these different chromatic shades on the same plant at the same time.
Pedoclimatic needs
Grow in fresh soil with good organic matter content but well drained, neutral to slightly alkaline, in full sun. This Hibiscus cannot tolerate drought and must be watered regularly during the dry season. Not very rustic species, it does not resist cold and prolonged frosts, withstanding minimum temperatures of up to +2°/+4°C. Adult plants are more resistant to cold.Botanical Information
