Genus of about 600 species of monoecious, semi-deciduous or evergreen trees and shrubs, widely distributed in woodlands and scrub of the Northern Hemisphere. Quercus x streimii is an erect deciduous tree up to 12-15 m tall, with expanded foliage especially in isolated specimens. Lobed leaves, light green, 8-10 cm long. This hybrid is found in the south of France and has intermediate characteristics between the two progenitor species. Use Ideal for creating groves or as an isolated tree.
Pedoclimatic needs
It prefers deep, fertile, well-drained soils, also adapting to superficial and stony ones. It should be planted in full sun. Quercus x streimii is partially rustic and resists frost down to -12°/-14°c.Botanical Information
