Pterocarya fraxinifolia - Caucasian walnut (10 bare root plants)

Large deciduous tree, up to 25-30 meters tall characterized by an expanded and open foliage. The leaves are compound, impartipinnate up to 30-50 cm long, with lanceolate leaflets with serrated margins. It is a monoecious species with small yellow-green flowers, the male ones are arranged in linear spikes, the female ones gathered in clusters. The fruits are winged nuts gathered in very decorative pendulous infructescences.

Pedoclimatic needs

It adapts to any type of soil, preferring those rich in organic substance. It tolerates both waterlogging and drought and is wind resistant. It likes exposure in full sun or partial shade. Very rustic plant, it resists minimum temperatures reaching -15°/-20°C.
