Genus of about 150 species of deciduous or evergreen trees and shrubs in Europe, Africa and northern Asia and northern and central America. Acer campestre is a medium-sized deciduous tree, up to 13-15 meters tall. It is characterized by a well-branched trunk, rounded and expanded foliage. The leaves are opposite, dark green in color and normally have 3 or 5 lobes. In autumn they take on a golden yellow color with very decorative reddish shades. The flowers, gathered in inflorescences, are small and green in color. They appear between April and May together with the leaves. The fruit is a winged disamara.

Pedoclimatic needs

Maples are suitable for any type of garden depending on the species and size. It adapts to all types of soil, preferring loose, fresh, calcareous and well-drained ones. It likes exposure in full sun or partial shade. Rustic plant, it resists minimum temperatures reaching -10°/- 15°c.
