Genus of about 150 species of deciduous or evergreen trees and shrubs of Europe, Africa and Northern Asia and North and Central America. Acer campestre is a medium-sized deciduous tree, up to 13-15 meters tall. It is characterized by a well-rounded trunk. branched, rounded and expanded crown. The leaves are opposite, dark green in color and normally have 3 or 5 lobes. In autumn they take on a golden yellow color with very decorative reddish shades. The flowers, gathered in inflorescences, are small and green in color . They appear between April and May together with the leaves. The fruit is a winged disamara.

Maples are suitable for any type of garden depending on the species and size. It adapts to all types of soil, preferring loose, fresh, calcareous and well-drained ones. It likes exposure to full sun or partial shade. Rustic plant, resistant at minimum temperatures reaching -10°/- 15°c.
