Altezza della pianta: 15-40cm

Genus of 25 species of evergreen, aromatic shrubs and suffrutics found in rocky, exposed, sunny and dry habitats of the Canary Islands, Mediterranean regions, northeastern Africa, southwestern Asia and India. Lavandula x allardii is a vigorous hybrid with an upright habit up to 120-130 cm tall. It is an evergreen suffrutix with aromatic glaucous or greenish gray leaves, with a partially serrated margin. Of all the lavenders, it is the one that reaches the largest size. The inflorescence of this cultivar is particularly long and sometimes exceeds 20 cm. This spike, elongated and thin, is made up of numerous purple, very fragrant flowers. Flowering generally occurs in late spring between May and June.

Pedoclimatic needs

Poor soil, even stony and calcareous as long as it is well drained. In soils that are too rich and excessively irrigated, plants grow quickly but have a short life. It likes sunny exposure and requires very little water. Less rustic than L. angustifolia, it only tolerates short frosts with minimum temperatures down to -3°/-5°C.
