Altezza della pianta: 20-40cm

Genus of about 600 species of monoecious, semi-deciduous or evergreen trees and shrubs, widely distributed in woodlands and scrub of the Northern Hemisphere. Quercus cerris is a majestic deciduous tree up to 40 m tall with a slender straight trunk and expanded foliage in isolated specimens. Dark green leaves, morphologically variable, but generally obovate with incised and marked lobes. Fruits large 5-6 cm, dark brown in colour.

Pedoclimatic needs

The plant adapts to all types of soil as long as it is deep and fresh, preferably siliceous or volcanic with a sub-acid reaction which ensures optimal growth, it does not disdain even clayey-compact ones. Rustic species, it tolerates cold and even intense and prolonged frosts up to -20°/-22°C. It should be planted in full sun and requires large spaces to allow the foliage to develop freely. It can tolerate strong winds.
