Plant Description

Botanical Information
Botanical name to the Japanese botanist Sadahisa Matsudo (1857-1921) who first described the flora of China and to whom it was dedicated. This willow cultivar is medium in size and can reach 15 m in height. It is a deciduous tree with a beautiful habit, soft and leafy. The peculiarity of this variety is that it has twisted and tortuous branches associated with a magnificent golden yellow bark. For this reason it is precisely in winter, when the plant is bare, that its charm is best appreciated. However, the foliage is also very beautiful, appearing glaucous-green on the upper side and silver-grey on the lower side. Its foliage, light and fluffy, while providing shade, gives the garden a luminous shadow crossed by some light sunny nuances.Pedoclimatic needs
Loves sunny positions; it is not afraid of the cold and tolerates very intense and prolonged frosts without problems. Constant and regular watering, they fear drought, in fact, they are often planted near lakes or streams, in constantly wet soil. It also grows in drier places but its development is significantly affected. They prefer rich and deep soil, not excessively draining; they can often be planted in places where many other essences would suffer, or where water stagnates and the soil is constantly soaked.Botanical Information
