Plant Description
Perennial herb up to 60-80 cm tall that when mature forms small tufts 30-50 cm wide. Linear, very thin, light green leaves, up to 50-60 cm long, very decorative, especially when they sway in the breeze. At the end of summer it produces numerous small yellowish inflorescences.
Pedoclimatic needs This grass is not very demanding and grows mostly on well-worked soils that favor rapid growth, but it adapts to any type of soil, even poor and stony, as long as it is free from vegetation and not too compact. It loves full sun positions and is partially rustic, tolerating not too intense and prolonged frosts up to -4°/-6°c. Ideal for low-maintenance gardens, to embellish slopes, flowerbeds and rock gardens. At the end of summer when the leaves of the tufts turn golden, they can be shortened to stimulate a prompt vegetative recovery.
