Shrub or small deciduous tree up to 8-10 m tall with an erect habit and an expanded and disordered foliage. The light greyish brown trunk is cracked in adult plants, while the young branches have a smooth reddish brown bark. The leaves are scale-shaped and green tending towards blue. It blooms in spring producing small white flowers.
Pedoclimatic needs
It prefers loose, inconsistent and sandy soils, but also adapts to heavy and humid ones. Very resistant to drought, wind and salt, it is widely used for both public and private furnishing of coastal environments.
